Diana Cummings Obituary

Diana L. Cummings passed away on Dec. 29, 2016, after a brief illness. Diana, lovingly called the Dragon Lady, was born on Sept. 18, 1942, in Montgomery, Ala. Diana was raised in Plainfield, Ind. In 1985, Diana moved to Anchorage, Alaska, and resided there until her death.
Diana became a Lion in 1999, when she joined the Benton Bay Lions Club. Diana was the District Governor for the Lions from 2009 to 2010 and Council Chair from 2015 and 2016. Diana immensely enjoyed her service with the Benton Bay Lions and participated in numerous projects including Vision Screening. She was grateful and proud to have been a part of the Lion's family.
Diana was preceded in death by her parents, Charles W. and Regina Campbell.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis P. Cummings; son, Jack T. Trucks; daughter, Marie L. Trucks; grandchildren, Dolores R. Trucks, Andrea Mills and Tommy Brown (Christina); sister, Pamela Licaretz; and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E Street in Anchorage on Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. A service will be held the following day, Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at 1 p.m., at Holy Family Cathedral, 800 West 5th Avenue in Anchorage, with a celebration of life to follow at the Mountain View Lions Club.
Donations, instead of flowers, may be sent to the 49A Lions Foundation for Water Project for Rural Alaska, P.O. Box 244662, Anchorage, AK 99524-4662.
Diana will be missed, and in the hearts of many.
Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.

I just heard the news. I am very sorry to hear of Diana's passing. She loved life and loved golf and it was an honor to know and work with her. She will be missed greatly. Thoughts and prayers to you and the family.

My heart felt condolences go out to Lion Dennis and all of the family. Diana was a true person of opinion and not afraid to express her thoughts with conviction. I ALWAYS ADMIRED HER for all she did and her contribution to those in the community. She was a true friend.
