Dorothy Erhart

Anchorage resident Dorothy M. Erhart, 87, died June 9, 2009, of melanoma at her home. In accordance with her wishes, there will be no funeral. Dorothy was born Feb. 8, 1922, in Great Bend, Kan. She became an Anchorage resident in 1968. She lived in Fairbanks from 1950 to 1952. She worked for Task Realty in Anchorage for three years and Ketchum Air Service in Anchorage for five years. Her family wrote: "Dorothy moved from Kansas to California in 1943 and met her husband in 1945 on his return from World War II at Long Beach, Calif.; they were happily married for 62 years." Survivors include her brother, Jack Merten of Great Bend, Kan.; nephew, Mike Merten of Great Bend; niece, Lahree Jenkins of Duncan, Okla.; sister-in-law, Wilda Merten of Great Bend; husband, Lewis Erhart of Anchorage; son, Lewis M. Erhart of Anchorage; daughter, Monika Erhart of Anchorage; granddaughter, Emily Courtright of Anchorage; grandsons, Galen Courtright and Arthur Marshall of Anchorage; and granddaughters, Audrey Marshall and Tayler Erhart Bailey of Anchorage. Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
