Edith Golay Obituary

Anchorage resident Edith "Jeannie" Golay, 71, died April 29, 2007, at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
No service is planned.
Jeannie was born Aug. 17, 1935, in Billings, Mont., to Jean and Wayne Pierce. She lived in Washington and California before moving to Alaska in February 1965.
Jeannie worked for the Alaska Railroad from 1965 until her retirement in 1998. She was a resident of the South Fork Valley of Eagle River from 1971 until her death.
Survivors are her huband of 40 years, Gary Golay; daughters, Beverly Suryan of Anchorage, Monique Golay of Houston, and Rose Griffiths and husband Tim of Bakersfield, Calif.; grandchildren, Amber Baird, Blaine Golay and Kathy Fisher; sisters, Beverly Muth and husband Jerry of Washington, and Nancy Calhoun and husband Jim of Arizona; brother, Archie Hotchkiss and wife Brenda of Washington; cousin, Floyd Smith and wife Barbara of Anchorage; niece, Becky Ohl of Arizona; nephew, Michael Calhoun of Seward; and many close friends in the South Fork Valley.
Jeannie was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Carroll, and her son, Robin Golay.
Her family suggests memorial donations in Jeannie's honor to Friends of Pets, 562-2535.
