Edward Dobbie Obituary



Edward Alan Dobbie, 49, of Westminster, died Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House, after a battle with cancer.

Born July 13, 1964, in Blackstone, Va., he was the son of William Dobbie and the late Pauline Roberts Dobbie.

A printer by trade, he started his career as a pressman with the Carroll County Times and last worked for Art Forms Inc., while he ran his own business, D&D Printing.

He was known for his many talents and enjoyed painting, song writing, building musical instruments and especially enjoyed jamming with his band.

Surviving, in addition to his father, are brother and sister-in-law Bill and Janie Dobbie, of Mount Airy; sisters Lee Haifley, Carol Adams, Sandra Astrup and Roberta Brumell; six nephews; and three nieces.

Private services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice's Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
