Erik Nordin

1967 - 2016

Mr. Erik D. Nordin, 48, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, in Anchorage, Alaska. Erik was born on April 21, 1967, to Ivan C. and Phyllis J. (Anderson) Nordin in Ann Arbor, Mich., and had lived in Alaska for the last 10 years. Before moving to Alaska, he spent a number of years in Muskegon, Mich., where he worshipped at St. Mark Lutheran Church. Erik loved all kinds of sports and was an outstanding athlete in high school. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Ivan and Joanne Nordin; three siblings, Jane and Lawrence Bednarz, Beth and Jeff Riviere and Mark and Karen Nordin; and six nieces and their families: Michelle (Brent) Jandron, Ty and Henry; Christy (Chris) King, Tori, Christina and Travis; Kelly (Matt) Firing, Betsy and Rhett; Megan (JP) Stokes, Patrick; Tess and Kate. He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis, in 2015. A family service to remember Erik's life will be held later this summer.
