Grant Matthisen Obituary
Grant is preceded in death by his father, Jack Matthisen. He is survived by his mother, Marilyn Matthisen; daughter, Ashley Matthisen; son, Austin Matthisen; his brother, Dr. Barry Matthisen; and two sisters, Michele Rolley and Denice Goodwill; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral services will be made through Legacy Funeral Home, Anchorage, Alaska.

This news hit me pretty hard this morning. Grant and I grew apart in adulthood, as childhood friends often do, but we shared the experience of so many of life's rights of passage that his impression on my life was indelible. To the entire Matthisen family, I am so very sorry for loss.

Dearest Matthisen family it is with deep personal grief in hearing of Grant's untimely passing, regardless of the cercumstances the loss of one of our own is always personal and very painful and only the wonderful happy thoughts stay with us as we carry on in our journey

Condolences to all, especially Mrs. Mathisen. Grant was a special friend and comrade to me. We played hockey on many of the same teams growing up including high school, city league and at Western Washington University. I loved his laugh and his wonderful sense of humor. When I knew him, he was happy. Grant had some kind words for me when I needed them. I will never forget him. He was a good egg and andexcellent team mate
