I knew Hagen from work and he was always one of the guys who just did the work and took the time to train others in what ever kind of work he did. He was always the kind of guy who just knew how to fix things at work and could always be counted on. I'll think of you time to time. I too am sorry for your loss.

My first met Hagen at pump station 8 where he was sent to repair a mainline pump. He was the expert sent to us from the pipelines maintenance shop. Years later I found out he had no experience or knowledge on these pumps. He was given a manual to read on the one hour flight to Fairbanks. Such was his ability and skills. Wish I had known about the book about his life. He packed a lot into his life than most of us knew. His family should be proud.

I started working with Hagen at Alyeska in 1994. Hagen was always willing to help me anytime I had a question. He was dedicated, a hard-driver, had an eagle-eye for details, and yet had the sense to keep the big picture in mind. When I have had personal times of struggle in my life, I have often thought of Hagen because he had to learn English before he could even go to school in the US. "No" and "can't" were not in Hagen's vocabulary. If you wanted a direct and honest friend, Hagen was like no other.
I am very sorry for the loss of your son and brother.
