Jacquelyn Browning Obituary

Longtime Alaskan and Kasilof resident Jacquelyn L. "Jackie" Browning died unexpectedly Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at her home in Kasilof. She was 47.
No service is planned.
Ms. Browning was born May 8, 1961 in Aberdeen, Wash. She moved to Alaska in 1974 and graduated at the top of her class from Service High School in 1979. She then attended University of Alaska Anchorage and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1983. After graduating from college, she took and passed her CPA exam. She then took a trip around the world before beginning her first job.
She worked as a CPA for Deloitte-Touche starting in 1983. She later worked as a controller for the Teamster's Union in Anchorage until later moving to Kasilof in 1994 to help her family tend to the family business. She later moved to Seward to help set up accounting for the Alaska Sea Life Center. She later began working as an independent CPA providing audits for various companies.
"Jackie owned and loved her Borzoi dogs. She was always her mother's helper and she moved to Kasilof to help her mother after her father's death," her mother said.
Ms. Browning was preceded in death by her father, James C. Browning, and her grandparents.
She is survived by her mother, Joanne Browning, and brother, Joseph Browning, both of Kasilof; sisters, Janice Cleary and Julie Browning, both of Anchorage; nieces, Lara Cleary of Anchorage, Gabby and Mara Browning of Kasilof; nephew, Joe Browning, of Kasilof; and aunts, uncles and cousins in Washington, California and Arizona.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel in Kenai.

I have known Jackie for over a decade and I will miss her. She was smart and fun and had a passion for her Borzois. She honored the sport of purebred dogs and did well by that. She was excellent with numbers and with that was able to help out BCOA. Jackie had a unique love for the earth and nature. Some of the best times I have ever had were with her. She, Joanne and Joe treated me to so many wonderful unforgettable memories, that I will cherish forever. May she be in a wonderful place now, she will be missed.
