James D. Hollenbeck

1940 - 2015

James Duane Hollenbeck went to be with the Lord on Feb. 27, 2015. He was born to Leon Hollenbeck and Ferne (Grubb) Stevens on Aug. 31, 1940, in Riverton, Wyo. Jim is remembered as a loving son, husband, grandfather, brother-in-the-Lord and a father to many. He poured his life out in service to others through teaching, giving, counseling, mentoring, encouraging and strengthening the Body of Christ according to the need of the moment. There wasn't anything Jim wouldn't or couldn't do. He was a man of many talents and gifts and used all he had to better the world and expand the Kingdom of God. He and his wife, Vinitchai, had a full life serving the Lord together from Thailand to Pt. Barrow, Alaska, to South America. Jim genuinely loved people. His life was filled with adventures, action, laughter, telling great stories and sharing Christ with others. Jim loved Jesus and surrendered everything to Him. He was a man of faith. Jim is survived by his wife, Vinitchai; and his mother; and children, Chuck, Holly, Eve, George, James and Jason; and 13 grandchildren. A Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Valley Funeral Home & Crematory, 151 East Herning Ave. in Wasilla, Alaska. Immediately after the viewing, there will be a funeral procession for burial at the Fort Richardson cemetery. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at 1 p.m., at Anchorage City Church, 1301 W. 100th Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska, with Pastor Roger Schoeniger officiating.
