Here it is, years later (Jan. 2, 2023) and I still think of Jane and miss her. We both loved pasties--something I didn't know about her until a few years ago--and when we first met, we realized that we both taught special needs kiddos, although she was retired and I was not at that point. She is always in my heart.

Today is New Year's Day, January 1, 2021. The year 2020 may be behind us, but the residual challenges in so many areas remain. I continue to miss Jane's annual holiday letter, her cheerful outlook, and her quiet grace.

I first met Jane at a calligraphy and paper arts convention many, many years ago in San Diego, California. We sat next to one another during a workshop or two, found we shared a background in teaching special ed as well as an interest in paper arts and lettering, and we had similar backgrounds and shared the same faith. We became pen pals! I had a funny intuitive feeling and googled Jane, and sadly, discovered she had passed. I will miss Jane especially at Christmas time. Her sweet correspondences, updates and family news will be greatly missed.

Jane and my mother Rita Villeneuve Honl enjoyed a great friendship together.
I remember when Jane accompanied Rita to France on my mom's 75 Birthday to visit the art museums. Jane was a kind and considerate person who will be remembered as someone who touched your life and left a lasting impression... Matt Honl

Jane was my other big sister. I admired her ambition and himor as well as her compassion for the less fortunate in mind or body. She was my advocate to higher education degrees.
My thoughts and prayers for family and friends.
