I'm so grateful for the chance I had to know you boy! I only wish we had been able to keep in touch.
You've always been my favorite cousin, even when you got us in trouble in the canal in front of Grandpa Stoddard's house.
I've had your moma to keep me informed on how you were doing and what a joy that has been. Rest well my friend, you still owe me a savin!
Aunt Pat, Jason, Patti and Chance, our hearts are with you at your time of loss. We remember those whom we have loved and lost. We honor their memories with our lives until we can join with them again.
I love you all very much and wish you peace and solace during this difficult time.

To my Cuz Pat and family,
I am so very sorry for the loss and pain you must be feeling at this time. Words do not suffice nor can they, as one tries to express what lies in the heart. One never expects to outlive their children and when such a loss happens, it seems as though the heart will simply stop it's beating and life will cease to exist. Somehow, through the grace of the heavens, you are able to rise up once again and resume life with all the beautiful sunrises and sunsets just as before. I think of the wonderful reunion that welcomed Joaquin back into loving surroundings, my mom and Aunt Verla, having been gone only months themselves, and all those who have paved the path ahead for Joaquin. He was a handsome young man and though I only remember him when he was just a little guy, it somehow seems only moments ago, for time moves quickly as though in a dream. Isn't it wonderful to believe, to really know---- you will be together again! This is merely a change of venue, another leg of the journey as he waits for those he loves so dearly. Hang tough Pat, and hold onto those around you, lean on their strength and always remember how much you and your family are loved, by us and a loving Father in Heaven who will not leave you comfortless..... Love you, (Cinder Binder)

Hello Jason, Patti, and Family,
I want to say I am so sorry
to hear of your loss.
Joaquin's and my path crossed a few times some twenty years ago in Alaska.
I can still remember Joaquin as always a warm, pleasant, and an optimistic soul, with a bright smile that was from the heart.
It always did me good to see him.
I have have no words to say,
to comfort such a great loss,
only to suggest during this time,
pull close together as a family,
and love each other.
Blessings,
Bill Guerra (Patti May's Brother)

I met Joaquin in Kodiak. We worked at a cannery in the summer of 89 or 90. He was fun, the life of the party and ready with a story. After Kodiak and a brief outing in Wasilla we lost touch. Then in 1994 we ran into each other in Dutch Harbor. He worked for Sealand and offered to get me a job. Foolishly I turned it down. That was the last time I saw Joaquin. Have thought about him through the years. Wondered what stories he has accumulated.
My heart goes out to his family.
Joaquin was a guy you couldn't forget.
I am truly sorry he is gone and did not stay in touch.

Don't know what to say except that we are so very, very sorry at your tragic loss of a son and a brother and an uncle. We are all so sorry to have lost such a colorful and lovable nephew and cousin, too. Thank goodness we have all the memories from the winter he spent here in Montana with us. Now I will never be able to throw away that mitten that Joaquin borrowed from me to clear the sidewalks of snow and returned with the tip missing ! It will always make me smile to remember his crazy antics ! We all have different beliefs, but it pleases me to think that his Grandma and Grandpa Bendz and Grandma Lovejoy are with him now to show him some new ropes !!! I would love to be a mouse !
With all my love and prayers for you all, Lois, aka “Auntie Lois”

Joaq, I never had a chance to tell you, but thank you for being a super uncle to Chance. He always looked forward to seeing his Uncle Joaquin and sharing the stories that you had for him. The one story that sticks out the most is the time you told him that you were out fishing and an orca whale bit your finger off.. He honestly believed that and probably still does today. You will be surely missed by all my friend. To the family of Joaq, our thoughts and prayers go out to you all...

Patty, Jason and Family....Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.
Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.
If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way. All our Love, Jolene and the Girls

I've known Joaquin since growing up together in Village Green and attended Kindergarten through graduation from Dimond High School with him. It was always so good to see him as he shared such special stories of sailing with his father. He had such passion and a creative mind. We will miss his spririt and good nature. Much sympathy to his family and friends.
