Dr. Ingle was a great guy. I met him in Alaska at an Urgent Care facility. I had an ongoing medical issue that he oversaw. He was so kind and even went to bat for me on a couple issues with my employer. He just went above and beyond. Over months of repeated visits to UC, we became friends. He and his team even invited me over one time when they ordered some food to be delivered. When I was asked why I didn't go to a family doctor where I could make appointments and pay less, I told them I was willing to pay more and endure a longer wait time because I found a doctor that cared. I left Alaska in 2001 and never saw Dr. Ingle again. I kept misspelling his name all these years and just now found him. I was so sorry and actually hurt to see his obituary today. This a decade too late, but my sincerest condolences to everyone who loved him. Thank you, Dr. Ingle, for being the absolute best doctor on this planet.

I had the good fortune to work alongside Dr Ingle for decades at ANMC and by good luck again at First Care where we both did a brief stint as general practitioners rather than as surgeons. He was skilled and very conscientious in caring for the patients in both roles. He managed to be amused and kind rather than angry when patients added to his workload by their bad luck or bad decisions. Unlike his wife Cathy who worked in the cardiac office next to mine at Providence, he was quite amused when I moved my squwaking scarlet maccaw to the office when my first child was born. I expect his son will represent him well in his practice of medicine and I hope that by the end of his career that most cancers will be only items in history like polio and smallpox are today. I am sad that he died but glad that he lived a life he could be proud of. Lawrence Dempsey, MD

I was brought to tears to see Larry had passed. He was special to me. We retired from our main careers at the same time then met and worked at an urgent care together. What a respectful and caring gentleman he was. When we moved to Arizona we still met each summer in Anchorage. I shall always have a special place in my heart for Dr Ingle, a very special person.

What an exceptional surgeon Dr. Ingle was and IHS beneficiaries were very privileged to have had Dr. Ingle as their surgeon. Working at the old ANMC assigned to the Surg Dept it was there that I overheard him make a comment about preparing himself for the upcoming procedures by "thinking through the procedures the night before." Such an ownership of professionalism and dedication when others would have settled for mediocracy! A life well lived, Dr. Ingle! We salute you, his family!

What an exceptional surgical physician he was! Not only compassionate, kind-hearted and dedicated, he also was a very knowledgeable surgeon: he would mentally prepare for his procedures the day prior to the date of the procedures: overheard him make a statement about his preference to fully prepare himself for the upcoming procedures by "thinking it through the night before." Such immense ownership of a thoroughly prepared surgeon! Heaven gained a very gentle person who will be remembered by all of Alaska for his professionalism as a physicain for IHS. We are saddened, yes, but we are also privileged to have known Dr. Ingle, too.
