Lemoine Webber Obituary

Lemoine "Lee" Webber was born June 4, 1926 in Virginia, Minnesota to the late Fred and Matilda Webber. Lee was the oldest of three siblings. Leighton was his younger brother, deceased, Winnie his oldest sister and Lou the youngest. Lee was educated in the Roseau, Minnesota public schools.

His first wife, Donna Tonneslan, mother of his children Janie, Duane and Donavon, preceded him death. Lee married Juanita, July 19, 1974.

Lee served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was discharged in 1951 and returned to his home in Roseau, Minnesota where he worked as both an automobile and truck mechanic. Friends lured him to Anchorage, Alaska in 1956 where he landed a job on his second day. In Anchorage he worked for many years for John Stepp Friend Ford. In August 1976, George Petrovich of Petro Products offered him a job he felt was too good to refuse and he accepted. He remained at Petro Products until his retirement in March 1994. He retired to southern California in September 1997, where he lived until his death.

Lee spend many wonderful times at our Big Lake, Alaska cabin with family and friends, boating and water-skiing summers and snow machining winters. Lee touched the lives of all his family and friends with his good nature, humor, kindness and generosity. To the very end of his life he was loving and very complimentary.

Lee died Jan 2, 2012 at Cypress Place Assisted Living, Ventura, CA. There was a memorial service in Ventura, CA, January 6, 2012.

To cherish his loving memory are his devoted wife, Juanita; his beloved children, Janie and husband Robert Wilson, Duane and Donavan Webber, his loving step-daughters Linda Jones, Jessica and husband Howard Holm and Anita Spernak; his treasured grandchildren Todd Wilson, Tori Webber, Joanne Shake, Matthew, Katie and Kristen Spernak, Paul Holm (deceased), Lacy, Paula and Charlie Holm; his great-grandchildren Christopher Webber and Taylor Spernak; his sisters Winnie Hayes and Lou Clinton, along with countless other family and friends who were blessed to know him.

My husband Bud Schave worked and 'played' with Lee since their days at Westward Motors and Friendly Ford staring in 1956. Lee was a dear friend and a trusted companion. We spent many weekends with Lee and Juanita at Big Lake. I miss his chuckle and his ever present cigar. Deepest sympathy to Juanita and all the family. Sincerely, Schave family
