Mart A. Wilson

1960 - 2014

Mart was born and raised in the state of Washington. On an adventure trip with his father and younger brother, Mart drove and fished his way to Alaska. Enamored with the state and landing a job during the 'pipeline days' with CIT, Mart chose to remain in Alaska. He eventually met his wife, Cynthia, and they were married in Scotland. They returned to Alaska and, within the year, Mart began his own successful small business. Mart and Cynthia had and raised three children: Michal, Andrew and Daniel. The family attended a Bible believing church and credit God with helping all of them to make it through their lives together with its various challenges. Mart passed away early in the morning of Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, surrounded by his wife and children, after battling brain cancer. Mart's request upon his death was to make known to those who would listen that God used all things in his life to bring him to a saving knowledge of the Living God. He faced death, divorce and physical abuse as a child. As an adult he faced many challenges and managed to forge a life celebrating family, commitment to his business and a strong quiet faith. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, at 4 p.m. at Anchorage Grace Church, located at 12407 Pintail Street, Anchorage, Alaska.
