Megan Frenzel Obituary

Megan Elaine Frenzel, 15, passed away unexpectedly on July 23, 2015. A visitation will be held at Kings Way Ministry Center, 10336 East Eagle River Loop Rd. in Eagle River, Alaska, on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015, at 11:30 a.m., with a service at 1 p.m. Pallbearers include: Adam Ferguson, Randy Miller, David Frenzel, Bryan Ferguson, Matthew Frenzel, Jesse Ferguson, Brendan Frenzel, Jesse French, Aaron Frenzel, Ben Ferguson and Andrew Miller. Megan was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on Sept. 23, 1999. She was the oldest of eight siblings. She was a nurturing and loving big sister; Megan was always ready and willing to lend a hand with her brothers and sisters. She was a true Alaskan girl who enjoyed camping, riding ATVs, snow machining and just being outdoors. Megan's love of fishing began with her first trip to the Kenai River with Grandma Heidi and Papa Bryan at 6 months of age. She loved fishing: on the ocean, on the river or a lake. Summer or winter, it did not make a difference to her, as long as it was fishing. Megan's love of books and reading was well known; she often carried two or three books with her that she would read simultaneously. She believed in the importance of education and doing well in school. She was an honor roll student. Megan wanted the best for all her friends, so before school you would find her in the Chugiak library mentoring friends and helping them with homework. Megan enjoyed wood working and building things, she was involved in theater arts and enjoyed behind the scene aspects such as designing and building sets and lighting. Her love of family, friends and life was unmatched. Megan always enjoyed taking pictures. It was always a talent of hers but this past year her love of photography began to blossom. She enjoyed taking portraits of her friends and family, but her passions were sunrises and especially sunsets. Survived by her eight siblings, Emilie, Benjamin, Azlene, Christopher, Joshua, Joseph and Andrew. Megan was blessed with two fathers, Adam Ferguson of Eagle River and Randy Miller (wife, Hannah) of Gackle, N.D.; and her wonderful mother, Katherine Frenzel Ferguson of Eagle River. She is also survived by her grandparents, David and Ann Frenzel of Eagle River and Bryan Ferguson of Chugiak, Alaska, and Patricia Miller of Ninilchik, Alaska, and Leroy and Doris Jansen of Steele, N.D.; and her great-grandparents, Arnold and Norma Link of Anchorage; aunts and uncles, Jesse Ferguson of Chugiak and Kristin Ferguson of Palmer, Lacee Ferguson of Chugiak and Matt and Season Frenzel of Eagle River. Preceding Megan in death are brother, Jonathan Ferguson; grandmother, Heidi Ferguson; and grandfather, Calvin Miller. In lieu of flowers, donation can be made to Megan's "Go Fund Me Account" http://www.gofundme.com/2a8z4m7f8z4 or Alaska USA Account # 1970426. Arrangements are with Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel.

My Thoughts and Prayers are to your whole family. Megan will be in my heart and was definitely a great role model to all. She was definitely outdoors (she wanted to race in the Arctic Man one day), I told her I'd come watch her race. May God Bless your whole family,
