Dear Kerri & Carolyn,
I was very sorry to read about Monte. I have many fond memories of coaching and swimming in AK during the late 70's and 80's. Besides being a good swimmer I always felt Monte brought a lot of enthusiasm and class to the sport. I'm very sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Mike Fallon (former coach of Elm. Dolph. and Ass't coach at Bartlett H.S.)

Keep your memories close and in the palm of your hands just as God has Monte in the palm of his hand now. Know that my prayers are with you. With love...Sue Linford

Carolyn: Our prayers go out to you and your family. I will truly miss hearing from him at Christmas with his extra special notes to us along with a special picture you would always send of the wonderful places you two had been. Monte truly was the best "boss" to work with in Utilities and I will really miss him.

Carolyn,
We were deeply saddened to learn of Monty's passing. He was a true gentleman. For several years I represented the Anchorage Natural Gas Company (later Enstar). At that time Monty was the utilities expert for the Department of Transportation. He was the "go to guy" for any utilities or right of way questions. Even if the state was not involved he would gladly offer his sage advise. Our condolences to you and the rest of the family.

Carolyn,
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy. I really enjoyed the 20+ years that I worked for Monte in Utilities. He was the best boss anyone could have. I also enjoyed his friendship during the many rounds of golf we played even tho I never beat Monte once.

Carolyn, sorry to hear about Monty. I met and worked with him in the Hwy Dept when he was head of the Materials Section. We also used to play bridge together at noon. Remember when we used to do three or four tables once a month at each others homes. Monty was my partner and talked me thru my one and only grand slam! He was a lot of fun and great to work with. I was married to Doug Grey after we all moved out to Tudor Road. Love readheads! My condolences.

I remember many meetings with Monty while obtaining ADOT permits as the Right of Way Supervisor while working for Matanuska Telephone Association, Inc. He was always a gentleman, professional, and a great steward of Alaska highways and rights of ways.
I was greatly saddened to read of his passing. I extend my condolences and prayers to his family. He was a kind and compassionate man, as well as an example of leadership to those who worked with him.

Hello Uncle Monte! Although I did not have the great fortune of growing up in Anchorage, you played an instrumental role in my life. From my perspective, you allowed me to see what it meant to be committed to your wife, your children, your extended family, your hobbies and your career. Although I was a handful in my early years, you always greeted me with a smile and encouraging words. You were always willing to pick me up if I didn't have a ride, and you were always in the stands to watch Tom and I play baseball. I remember the day I fell in love with golf because from that day, I anxiously awaited the day I could play with you in Alaska or Hawaii. I remember the day I bought my first sports car because I couldn't wait to share yet another interest we had in common. I have slowly turned into the kind of man I always strived to be and want you to know that man was you. I love you dearly and will miss you greatly. As I continue to grow, I will always keep you in my thoughts as I ask myself how you might handle this situation. Thank you for being such a great man, a great role model and most of all, a great inspiration to me. I love you, Rocky
