Nicholas C. Leitner, Jr., 26, of Medford, NJ, passed away suddenly on Saturday, September 24, 2016.

Born in Voorhees, NJ, Nick resided in Medford most of his life. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School, and went on to serve our country in the U.S. Army as a Specialist. Nick enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and trucks.

He is survived by his loving parents, Nicholas C. Leitner, Sr. and Deborah (nee Scharr) Leitner; his wife of four years, Gianna Leitner; his daughter, Mia Leitner; his sister and brother-in-law, Ashley and Michael Wisniewski; his maternal grandparents, John and Margaret Carr, and Edward and Elizabeth Scharr; his paternal grandparents, Nicholas and Shirley Leitner; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, September 30, 2016, from 5-8PM, at St. Mary of the Lakes R.C. Church, 40 Jackson Rd., Medford, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 10:30AM, at the church.

Interment will follow in Park View Cemetery Historic Medford Village.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Nicholas' memory to the care of his daughter Mia, 1422 Stokes Rd., Medford, NJ 08055.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Mathis Funeral Home, Medford, NJ.

I know over the years we have gone our own way but once a friend always a friend and I wish I was there to be one if you needed. Jeff and I loved Nick like he was our own son. The weekend prior to the accident Nick and Chrissy were in Texas they stayed with us, We are so grateful for that time we had with them and the wonderful goodbye with the hugs and I love you's. We will miss Nick as long as we live, he was a delight to be around and we were truly blessed to have known him.
