Perfecta Cabanete Obituary

Anchorage resident Perfecta M. Cabanete, 94, passed away on June 29, 2011 at Providence Alaska Medical Center.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 3-6 pm at Janssen's Evergreen Memorial Chapel; 737 E Street, Anchorage, AK. Funeral Mass service will be held on July 8, 2011 at 9:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish; 3900 Wisconsin Street, Anchorage, Alaska, to be officiated by Fr. Vince Blanco. Pallbearers will include Victorio Cabanete, Genaro Cabanete, Jesse Holganza, Benjo Holganza, Jeremy Holganza and Ken Cramer. The burial will take place right after the Holy Mass and all will procede from Guadalupe Church to the Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery; 535 East 9th Ave, Anchorage, Alaska.

Perfecta was born on April 19, 1917 in Carcar, Cebu, Philippines. A fulltime housewife, she moved to Alaska in 1993. She lived a life full of love, adventure, and hard work. She was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Perfecta enjoyed cooking, sewing, and praying the Holy Rosary.

Family states, she was "religious, a very special mother, good cook, and generous. The epitome of a loving mother who brought her children to a close relationship with God, teaching them the power of prayers!"

Perfecta is survived by her sons Victorio (Leonarda) Cabanete of San Jose, CA and Genaro Cabanete of Anchorage; daughters Aida C. Babao of Carcar, Philippines, Lourdes (Antonio) Mana of Guadalupe, Cebu City, Philippines, Priscilla (Arturo) Abellana of Carcar, Cebu, Philippines, Dolly (Jesse) Holganza of Anchorage, and Maria Deborah (Jonathan) Apepe of Anchorage. She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and sibling Venerando Mancao of Carcar, Cebu, Philippines, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Perfecta is preceded in death by her husband Teopisto Cabanete and daughters Marina C. SyPiecco and Floriana C. Boltz.

The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciations for the support of family and friends here in Anchorage especially to the Bisayan Filipino of Alaska, Inc (BFOA).
