Robert Grudzinski

Robert T. "Big Bob" Grudzinski, 73, died Aug. 15, 2009, at Providence Extended Care Center in Anchorage, his hometown for the last eight years. A celebration of his life service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Trailside Community Church, 5150 Abbott Road. Burial of his cremated remains will be in Fort Richardson National Cemetery. Bob was born June 18, 1936, in Chicago to Edward and Lucille Grudzinski. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School and served as an MP in the U.S. Army. Upon leaving the military, he was employed at AT&T, from which he retired in 1989. Bob was an avid fisherman and pool player. He was a master gardener and wonderful cook. He enjoyed watching NFL games and old Western movies. He was an active participant at the Senior Center, where he often played pool with his friends. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Arlene June; his three children, Debbie, Bobby and Patty; his five grandchildren, Krissy, Eric, Robby, Wade and Hayley; his two sons-in-law, John and Shawn; his brother, Don; his niece, Karen; and nephew, Donnie.
