Robert Witt Obituary
A celebration of life was Friday at Mountain View Mortuary in Colorado Springs.
Ken was born Aug. 8, 1962, in Gulfport, Miss., where his father began his U.S. Air Force career while stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Miss. The military life enabled Ken and his family to live in many locations, including Japan, Tennessee, Idaho, Florida and Alaska, where his family moved in 1978 when his father was stationed at Elmendorf.
Ken graduated from East High School. One of his favorite places was Skilak Lake, where he went camping and fishing with his high school buds Mark, Jeff and Nate. He eventually relocated to Colorado Springs to be close to his family.
Ken acquired a great love for the splendor of mountains. He described its majestic beauty as 'his church." His great joy was packing his truck, his two "boys" and going camping in the surrounding mountainside.
He leaves his beloved sons, Garrett and Alex; mother, JoAnn Witt; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Brad Goodwin; and nephew and nieces, Brock, Savannah and Jaidyn Goodwin.
"His family and friends take comfort in knowing he is united with his father and they are in a peaceful place filled with joy and love. We will miss him dearly and be grateful that he left so many treasured memories with us," his family wrote.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made to the Robert K-H Witt Memorial Fund at any Washington Mutual Bank location.
