Robert Workman

Robert M. Workman, 57 of Shageluk, Alaska, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, passed away with his special friend, Mae Irene Melovidov from St. Paul Island, AK on March 10, 2014 in Anchorage, Alaska to be with our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven.

Robert was born February 13, 1957 in Shageluk, Alaska. Robert was a jack of all trades, a seasonal firefighter, carpenter, cannery worker and maintenance man. He built his own home and enjoyed helping others build homes.

Robert was a member of the Episcopal Diocese Church. His humble character, caring and humorous personality, generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to everyone that knew him. He showed his bravery and selfless dedication serving our country in the United States Army. Robert was always willing and available to help others in need and share his knowledge.

Survived by his mother, Roxcenia Workman of Shageluk; sister, Carolyn Workman and Arnold Hamilton, of Shageluk; sister, Judy and Marvin Deacon of Grayling; brother, Alfred Workman of Seward; sister, Vera Workman of Anchorage; sister, Melody Workman and Kenneth Andrews of Anchorage; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and friends. Preceded in death by his father, Michael Workman; sister, Barbara Workman, brother, Terry Workman and grandmother, Elizabeth Workman.

A service will be held Friday, at 3 p.m., March 14 at Alaska Heritage Memorial Chapel in Anchorage. Viewing and Pot Luck to follow. Burial will be at Shageluk Cemetery in Shageluk Alaska.

Arrangements were made with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel.
