LITTLE FALLS - Mrs. Shirley Vedder passed away on February 14, 2016 at her home in Little Falls surrounded by her loving family.
She was born December 19, 1935, in Little Falls, a daughter to the late William and Rose (Morbito) Hysack. She graduated from Little Falls High School, Class of 1953. Her marriage to Norman F. Vedder took place June 11, 1955, at St. Joseph's Church, Little Falls. He passed away on August 3, 2006. At one time Shirley worked at Allegro Shoe, and was last employed with Van Allen's Nursing Home. She was active in our community and enjoyed playing cards, participating with Meals on Wheels, and bowling with her Tuesday Bowling League friends.
She is survived by her sons, John Vedder and wife, Mullinda, of Salisbury, and Bill Vedder, of Henderson, NY; daughters, Lynne Smith and her husband, Brent, of Richfield Springs, and Norma Goldstein and her husband, Ron, of Mohawk; grandchildren, Jennifer and Andrea, Kevin and Keith, Meghan, Justin, and Sarah, Crysalyn and Terran, and Jordan; great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Ava, Blake, Isabella, Mallory, Gianna, Ethyn, Oliver, and Sophia; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Urbiss; aunts, Gertrude Hysack and Alice Hysack; many nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friends. She was predeceased by her grandson, Blaise Wren; and a sister, Jean Ann Haenges.
Funeral graveside memorial services will be held Friday, April 1, 2016, at noon, at St. Mary's Cemetery, town of Herkimer. In keeping with Shirley's wishes, there are no services at this time.
Her family is grateful for the care extended by Dr. Buch, Hospice, and staffs.
In lieu of floral offerings, a donation may be considered to either HALO, the Herkimer County Humane Society, or CAP.
