Steve Cloud Obituary

Anchorage resident Steve Ross Cloud died of natural causes Feb. 23, 2010, at Providence Alaska Medical Center at the age of 61.

Steve was born April 5, 1948, in Pima, Ariz., to Bill and Reba Cloud. He was the youngest of seven siblings. He graduated from high school in Newman, Calif., in 1966 and served in the U.S. Army as a radio repair specialist from 1967 to 1969.

Steve came to Alaska in 1971 and married Carol Nordeen on Jan. 31, 1974.

Steve was a resident of Alaska for 39 years and was a well-known figure in Anchorage's construction community, having done his electrical apprenticeship here and later owning two electrical companies. He was part-owner of Yellow Electric until it closed its doors in the mid-'80s. and was sole owner of Carcel Electric, which he ran until his death.

Steve's family remembers him as an incredibly generous and loving man, always willing to help someone should they need him. Also, they said, his primary focus during his life was the well-being of those he loved.

He is survived by his four children, Sy, Dusty, Ina and Kelsey; and his partner of 39 years, Carol Ann Nordeen.

Legacy Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Barry and I would like to send our heartfelt condolences to Carol and my cousins. That picture of Uncle Steve really captures his essence perfectly: always smiling. Some of my all-time favorite memories in life include times spent with him growing up and later with his beautiful family. Steve was one of the good guys and will be profoundly missed. Hold tight to your memories for comfort. Love, prayers and hugs,
