Steven Nelson Obituary

Steven J. Nelson, 61, died on Sept. 1, 2015, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was the victim of a trucking accident. He was born in Sinton, Texas, on July 8, 1954. At age 19, he moved from Lauderhill, Fla., to Anchorage, Alaska, where he learned to drive a big rig from his father. After many years, he left Alaska and moved to Arizona, where he worked as an electrician. Steve never married but had several loves in his life and remained friends with them all. In recent years, he resumed cross country truck driving and, while based in Florida, he made several trips back to Alaska, which he still referred to as his home. He loved the openness, the fishing and the many people he counted as his friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father and a younger sister. He is survived by his mother, an older sister and a daughter. Friends in Alaska and Arizona, and his four nephews and two nieces were fortunate to spend time with him whenever he was able to take a break from being on the road. There will be a Celebration of Life for Steve on Oct. 3, 2015, starting at 4 p.m.: Please contact KC via email at [email protected] or Ami at 907-223-5824 for additional details. Steve loved life. He loved people and he never met a stranger. He lived hard, he worked hard, and he played hard. He was loved by so many and he is so missed.
