Dear Hilde and girls:
Janet and I just found out about Ted from Jeff Baker and we extend out deepest sympathies. I enjoyed the time Ted worked for Shiltec and especially the ball games that he organized. He was a fun person to be around and always kept us in the loop with the real Alaskans.
We are saddened by your loss and trust that the girls will be strong in the months to come.
Our prayers are with you.

The news of Ted's death is a real shock. We were great friends when we were in high school and afterwards. Hilde and girls, I know you don't know me, however, I met Ted at the Moose a couple of years ago. I would like you to know, even though he didn't know me well, he was always such a nice person to talk to. I didn't see him much, but when I did, he always talked about "his girls". Please know that I am so sorry for your loss. Shelly McCormick

Ted will be missed by all. I enjoyed working with him during his tenure at the NSB in support of the water/sewer projects. He always had a good joke and Elvis songs/impersonations to keep the day upbeat. It was an honor to know him. My sincere condolences to his family.

We've lost a wonderful friend with Ted's unexpected passing. He's probably the only person who could pull off wearing open-toed sandals and Hawaiian shirts in the middle of the Alaskan winter.

Ted Cain, What can I say, he was sometimes shy, but always active; I remember when our class would go to Will Roger and Wiley Post Mounment by snowmachines. I remember when all the class mate made a human pyramid. We had alot of time on our hands grewing up... I was just trying to remember if he was there when they played football between the houses - during dead of winter. It was the fun time and we didn't care about the cold, it was just time being together as friends. Snowball fights, the most fun was Snow-baths.. man we'd run like crazy, too. Those were our fun times-remembering back to our dear friend and classmate: Ted Cain

Ted was a very good friend to many of us in high school. He was always easy going, liked to listen, liked to help out and especially make us laugh when we were down. I am especially grateful to this day that he was the one that 1st taught me how to drive in ANC after I graduated in high school in 1981. He will be greatly missed, however, our fond memories of him will live within us forever. Claudia Monogyak and friends.

Though half way around the World, I miss Ted so much already... and reach out to all his family and friends... as together we've lost such a dear and special part of our lives. We'll never lose our memories however, of his smile and and laughter...and dare I say those beautiful eyes. What a great friend he was. Thanks so much Ted.
