Theodore Forsi Obituary

Theodore John Forsi Jr., 71, of Soldotna, Alaska, died on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at home, while sleeping peacefully. Ted was born in Jackson, Mich., on Sept. 17, 1945; the eldest son of Gladys Virginia and Theodore John Forsi. Ted had five siblings, all with the "Forsi" sense of humor and intense love of life. Ted was a gifted man. He was a civil engineer and a hunting and fishing guide on the Kenai Peninsula. He had an intelligent mind and a great sense of humor. He was truly one of a kind. He loved adventure, family and friends, and appreciated all that the Lord had blessed him with. He is predeceased by his baby niece, Shelby Crosky of Anchorage, Alaska; brother, Robert Forsi of Oregon; sister, Sheri Forsi of Oregon; brother-in-law, Jim Schweigart of Oregon; and parents, Ted Forsi and Gladys Forsi, both of Washington. He is survived by his wife, Robin Forsi of Soldotna; children, Ericka Forsi of Washington and T.J. Forsi of Soldotna from first marriage, and John Forsi of Arizona and Brooke Martin and her husband Clay Martin of Oregon by his second marriage; his sister, Mary Ahmann and husband Mike of Washington; Donna Jean Schweigart of Oregon; and Connie Crosky and her husband Jeff, from Anchorage. He is also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces, along with many family members on his wife's side. The memorial service for Ted will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2016, at Cook Inlet Academy gymnasium in Soldotna at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the memorial. The family asks, in Ted's honor, that you might take a child hunting, fishing or camping this coming year. Donations can be made to the Boys and Girls Club basketball program in Kenai, Alaska. We will miss you greatly Ted - gone but never forgotten.

Hi Robin,

You probably will not remember us, but my wife Lorie, twin brother Gregg, and father Jim stayed at your house for a 2 day trip with Ted, circa 1989, Lorie caught the biggest King. Ted gave us the greatest time on the river and we are sorry for your loss, he was such a great guy. I hope you still can find peace knowing the impact he had on people.

Dear Aunt Robin, John, and Brook,
Uncle Ted was a wonderful, enthusiastic outdoorsman! I remember seeing all those trophies that Uncle Ted had brought home from his hunting days. Ted was the basketball coach at Cook Inlet Academy when my granddaughter was on the team. Ted was such a positive influence in her life. I watched her develop a confidence, and grow as a Christian under his leadership. He showed her love just because he appreciated her. Regardless of how the game went. We will never forget Ted's impact on her life and look forward to a great reunion in eternity with him. Our prayers are with you, Robin, Brook, Clay and Jon.

I was fortunate to know Ted for the past 18 yrs. He was a great man in so many ways; giving of himself to help others achieve their goals.

Ted was passionate about his family, friends, his vocation, the outdoors and other things that he pursued. I enjoyed his friendship, humor, integrity, kindness and down to earth style of living that belied his professional occupation as an engineer. We shared the same passion for the outdoors; especially hunting, and I was privileged to guide for Ted out of his camp near Lake Iliamna.

These mere words don't come close to encompassing Ted's life, but his legacy will live on in those who loved him and were fortunate enough to be his friends.

My condolences to Robin, John, Brooke, TJ, Ericka and the other family members. I pray that the love of God enfolds you during this difficult time and that He helps you heal with the passage of time.
