Timothy Krupa Obituary

Timothy Earl Krupa, 54, of Fairbanks, died unexpectedly Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, at Alpine Camp in Prudhoe Bay, from complications brought on by the flu.

Timothy was born Feb. 12, 1956, in Anchorage to Leo and Rose Krupa. He was the third of three sons and lived his childhood in Anchorage until he attended college at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he met and married the love of his life, Brenda. Tim graduated from UAF with a bachelor's degree in natural resource management and minors in geography and geology.

Timothy enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmachining, driving his riverboat, driving his Argo, four-wheeling, waxing his red GMC pickup, going to Arctic Man every year and watching his son race in the last few years, and taking little trips to Vegas. He enjoyed all these things with his wife, son, daughter, son's friends, brothers, brothers-in-law, nephews and his many good friends. He also enjoyed UAF hockey games and watching football and the history and weather channels.

Timothy worked in the oil fields for 30 years, with most of those years with Doyon Drilling as Rig 19's Toolpusher. He was dedicated to his job and the men who worked for him.

Timothy was an easygoing man, who never had a bad word to say about anyone. He was kind, funny, patient, smart and wise. He was a loving husband and father, who did everything for his family. He was particularly close with his son. They spent much time together, and he was very proud of him. He would do anything for his daughter, who he always referred to as, "Daddy's little baby girl." He loved to have fun and lived life to the fullest. He was sensible and the center of his family's world. He will sorely be missed by many.

Timothy is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda Kay Krupa; their children, Beverly Krupa (Sean Herring) and Bradley Krupa and his wife, Candice Krupa; grandchild, Blaize Herring; brothers, Mike Krupa (wife Claudia), and Patrick Krupa (wife Renee); uncle, James Shanahan; father- and mother-in-law, Thomas and Barbara Bluekens; sister-in-law, Kathy (husband Jim) Lydon; brother-in-law, Steven Bluekens; sister-in-law, Sally (husband Ted) Wicken; nephews, Christopher and Jimmy Lydon, Justin Bluekens, Cory and Travis Wicken, Taylor Jernigan; and nieces, Trina Krupa, Jennifer, Katrina, and Alicia Lydon, Stephanie and Brittaney Bluekens, Patricia, Carla, and Tiffany Wicken, Jessica Jernigan; and many more family in Montana, Pennsylvania, and Virgina; and last but not least, his faithful canine companions, Duke and BooBoo.

A Mass of Christian burial was held at noon Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Burial services are planned for the spring and will be announced at a later date.
