Travis Abel, friend and schoolmate, even after so many years, I think of you often. I remember your precocity, your sense of humor, and your Simpsons impressions! You were a beautiful soul. Friend, I know you're in the comfort of His arms now, but it still saddens me to know that you're gone. I would also like to give my love to your dear mother.

My deepest sympathy and prayers for the family & friends who have broken hearts today. Travis impacted many during his involvement at the Alaska Fine Arts Academy. His compassion, wit, intelligence, mischievous eccentricity and numerous talents were gifts that he used where ere he went. When we had ongoing random encounters over the last 5 years, Travis was always a bright spot in my day or night. I am so sorry he is gone.

I distinctly remember Travis, even after all these years, because he was an original. His eccentricities made him unforgettable. And great. It saddens me that the world has lost the physical embodiment of a truly creative soul. Rest easy my friend.

I feel so lucky to have had the chance to reconnect with Travis over the last few months. He had such a bright mind. His love and knowledge of Geology was fascinating, and his ability to work with difficult dogs, turning them in to pets, was remarkable.

Abel family, I am so sorry for your loss. He was an incredible young man.

From Elementary school through High school Travis was always the guy saying whatever it took to get you to laugh. Speaking with him during college his intelligence was apparent by all of the psychology and linguistic courses he seemed to excel in. His charisma and intelligence will be dearly missed by all of the many people Travis impacted in his life.
