Van Johnson

Van D. Johnson, 41, West Fargo, ND, died Thursday, August 2, 2012 in Essentia Health, Fargo, ND. Van Douglas Johnson was born June 30, 1971 in Fargo. He was raised in West Fargo and graduated from West Fargo High School. Van played football for the West Fargo Packers. He was a lineman and received recognition as "most valuable lineman", honorable mention and team captain. His senior year, Van was the only West Fargo player to be selected to play in the North-South Shrine game. Through the years, Van worked as a forklift operator for Reile's Transfer and Delivery, Builder's Square and Fleet Farm, all of Fargo. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Thurston, West Fargo; father, Van D. Johnson Sr., Moorhead, MN; sister, Vaniese (Dennis) Dahl, West Fargo; niece, Staci Dahl, West Fargo; nephew, Ryan Dahl, West Fargo and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral Service: Monday, August 6, 2012 at 2 PM in the West Funeral Chapel, West Fargo with visitation one hour prior.
