James Wall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center - West Fargo on Jan. 21, 2026.
James Henry Wall, 88 of Fargo, passed under the care of hospice at Bethany on 42nd in Fargo.

James was born on October 22, 1937 to Frank and Alma (Kval) Wall. He graduated from Lisbon High School and attended Valley City State College, earning a degree in teaching.

He taught in a country school for one year. He decided he would rather farm. He raised large herds of cattle. He spent a number of years in the Army National Guard.

In 1985 he married Jeanette Warner. They later separated ways. He retired from farming in 1993. He married Lois (Saewert) Colby in 1994. With this marriage he gained a stepdaughter, Michelle, whom he dearly loved. When the grandchildren came along and later the great-grandchildren, he enjoyed any time he could spend with them. They were a joy in his life. Jim and Lois moved to Fargo in 2008.

He was a very social person. It didn't take him long to find a coffee group. He could strike up a conversation with anyone. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter, Michelle (Adam) Weber; three grandchildren, Logan (Kasey) Erickson, Cassidy Erickson, Rayce Worley; two great-grandchildren, Kennedy and Colby Erickson; a brother, Roland (Wanda) Wall; a sister, Carole (Darrel) Magnuson, brothers-in-law, Ronald (Shirley) Hankel, and Larry Moxness; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dennis Wall; sisters, Lois (Lyle) Picotte, Jo Ann Hankel, and Mary Moxness.

Funeral Service: Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:00 p.m., in Liberty Lutheran Brethren Church, Fargo, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Lisbon, North Dakota.
