Walter Charles Pflughoeft Age 94. Entered into eternal peace on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Clintonville, WI. He was born December 22, 1921 in Milwaukee to Walter and Helen (Zanzig) Pflughoeft. Wally married Elaine Loper in 1946 in Milwaukee and raised three sons, Michael, Mark and Jefferey. They were married for 38 years until Elaine's death in 1984. Loving father of Michael, Mark (Carol)and Jeffrey (Judi). Proud grandpa of Kyle (Aubrey), Kennen (Jenny), Daniel (Valerie) and Ryan, and two great grandsons Crosby and Grady. Wally was preceded in death by his sister Pearl, brother Jerry, and special friend Agnes Reischel. Visitation at Harder Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 1 at 11:00 AM, until the time of Funeral Service at 12:30 PM. Interment at Wisconsin Memorial Park following. He was a WWII veteran, having proudly served his country in the US Army as a truck driver and a heavy equipment mechanic. In 2012 he was privileged to fly to Washington DC on an Honor Flight to visit WWII memorials with other veterans. Wally was employed by the City of Milwaukee as a tireman for 25 years. He was mechanically gifted, and working on cars and customizing vans were his true passions. He loved to drive and he and Elaine took many trips across the country in the vans that Wally customized for their travels. Besides his mechanical interests, Wally liked fishing, woodworking, playing pool, cards and swimming. He enjoyed playing accordion, singing and dancing. His energy, sense of humor and devotion to his family will be greatly missed. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Pine Manor Healthcare Center in Clintonville and Southern Care Hospice in Waupaca for their special care of Wally.
