Wilde Hootch Obituary

Wilde Guy Hootch was with some friends in Eagle River the early morning of his passing, Sunday, September 7th, and he had planned to surprise his family and the rest of his close friends. He grew up in Emmonak, and Anchorage, and attended Baxter Elementary, Wendler Middle School, and East High School. He was part of Mediak, and Fish Camp through the Cook Inlet Tribal Council programs. Wilde was a young man who had a passion for life, highly spiritual, a good listener and comforter for friends and family, very close to nature, great sun sets and peaceful settings. He loved to play video games, Hacky-sack, board games and cards, and most of all playing pool with friends and family. Not to mention, he was the reigning champion of Rock, Paper and Scissors. He made a big impact within each of your hearts, as he has ours! He was working at Northern Lights and other locations for Sub Way, a janitor at 5th Avenue Mall, and with the Fisheries in Emmonak. He has left his immediate family, his dad, Aloysius, his mom, Esther; his sisters, Wuanita, and Sheri Amadon from Texas; and his brothers, Sunshine, John Luke Crane, Governor and Jay-R; and his close nephew, Koda Hootch and other nephew and nieces too many to mention. Living close relatives: Uncles, Hootch side: "Great uncle Jay Luke (John Luke), Tony, Randy, Darren, Pete Amadon of Texas, and Don Christensen. Uncles, Williams side: Rudy, George, Brett Holt, and Jack Hopstad. Aunts, Williams side: Mary Paukan, Helen Levshakoff, Agatha Hopstad, Bernadette Holt. Aunts, Hootch side: Christine Kirby, and Wilma Christensen. And many cousins too many to mention, but you know who you are. Great friends and "siblings": Chris Alsup, Tori Valenzuela, Cynthia Balluta, Cody Wise, Tim Shales, and others who we don't know about. Deceased relatives: Grand parents, Aloysius Hootch Sr. and Adeline, Rudolph Williams Sr. and Flora. Uncles, Hootch side: Willie, Ernie, and Ignatius. Uncles, Williams side: Andrew Paukan of St. Mary's, John of Lynnwood, Washington, and Michael. Aunt: Anna Costley and her son James. Cousin: Simeon Mike. A blessing and viewing will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 11th within the Witzleben Chapel Legacy Funeral Home on 1707 S. Bragaw Street. Short service and Celebration of Life, with a Pot Luck (please bring food and coordinate with each of your friends and family) will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12th at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 825 S. Klevin Street.

I'm so saddened about your passing ... just discovered it. You were the cutest kindergartener. You used o.e hand to cover up your nose. You did this for a couple of weeks, Wilde Guy. Peace. Much peace.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I was fortunate to work with your family during our days at Baxter Elementary. Our children went to the same schools and were in some of the same classes. The joy your children brought to school every day is unforgettable. Many prayers for your family.

Aloysius and family, a thought from a great poet for you in your grief....
"Death is not extinguishing the light.
It is putting out the lamp because the dawn has come." --Rabindranath Tagor
May your family, friends and the Lord hold you up peacefully at this difficult time.

Al and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss, no parent can experience greater tragedy than loosing a child. As you walk through the path of grief know that myself and others are praying for the Lord to wrap his loving arms around you, look to Him and He will comfort and sustain you during your grief. I also know that at some point the tears will become smiles as you remember the best of times with your son. God Bless and keep you.

To Wilde's family: So many of us are in shock that Wilde's life on Earth is over so soon! I was one of many of Wilde's elementary teachers. We thought highly of Wilde and his entire family. By doing an anonymous act of kindness daily, we can keep his loving spirit on earth a little longer. A member of our Anchorage village has moved on and we mourn. The words to Bob Dylan's song "Forever Young" keep playing through my mind this week. I'm glad you have each other to discuss the thousands of happy memories of Wilde. Know that others care about Wilde and about you. Love, Ms. Davis 3rd Grade Teacher
