Jean Krysiak Obituary

Jean Marie Krysiak (Kochevar), age 68, passed away on May 25, 2025, in Sun City West, Arizona.

Born on October 11, 1956, in Virginia, Minnesota, Jean spent her childhood in Aitkin, MN.

Jean graduated from Aitkin High School in 1974 as student-athlete. She was a cheerleader, cross country and track runner. She won the district long jump and discus.

She pursued her passion for art at Staples Technical School. Then she began working as a graphic artist at Maurices in Duluth. While there she met her future husband, Mark Krysiak.

At age 33, Jean returned to school and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and later completed a Master's Degree in Education. She taught in the Duluth school district for 12 years. She finished her career creating unique art as a freelance artist.

A Funeral Mass will be held on June 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM in St. James Catholic Church, 299 Red Oak Rd., Aitkin, MN. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. There will then be a brief procession to the cemetery and then a luncheon at the church.

Jean's vibrant spirit, warm smile and love of learning leave behind cherished memories for those who knew her.

Jean is survived by her husband Mark Krysiak, Buckeye, AZ; mother Delores Kochevar, Northfield, MN; brother Keith Kochevar and wife Jackie, Cannon Falls, MN; Ken Kochevar and wife Mireya, Roseville, CA.

She was proceeded in death by her father Francis (Checo) Kochevar, 2014.

In lieu of flowers Jean's wish was a donation to Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org.
