Adriana Montoya, 23, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, in Albuquerque after a courageous battle with cancer. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.

Adriana was born Feb. 3, 1991, in Alamogordo. She graduated from Academy Del Sol High School in 2009. Adriana had a beautiful smile and a loving heart. She loved life and lived every day to its fullest. She had an unending devotion to her family and friends and loved spending as much time with them as she could. Adriana's gift for making everyone feel special will be remembered and missed by all those who knew her.

Adriana is survived by her parents Sam and Latiza (Tisi) Montoya of Alamogordo and Jessie Vigil and companion Diane Martinez of Tularosa; sister Monique Montoya Holly, her husband Michael and their children Aubryanna and Bryson of Albuquerque; sister Tamara Vigil and brother David Vigil of Tularosa; grandparents Alvino and Josephine Duran, Patricia Montoya, Johnny and Gina Vigil of Tularosa, a special aunt Margie Coates as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her brother Jesse Vigil of Tularosa and grandfather Demetrio H. Montoya, Jr.

A celebration of Adriana's life will be held at St. Francis De Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa, on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015.
The Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Mass will follow at 10 a.m. with Father Carlos Espinoza officiating.
Pallbearers are Marissa Duran, Rumaldo Duran, Tamara Vigil, David Vigil, Michael Holly, Pamela Romero, Candace Orosco, Jacob De Leon, Nina Bookout, Ricky Efird, Jesse James, Jake Provencio, Krislyn Pacheco and Anastasia De Leon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.

The Montoya family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements. Cremation will take place at PCS.
