Bethe Foree

Bethe Foree, 56, passed away Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, at Good Samaritan Society Betty Dare after a five-month fight with ovarian cancer. Her last few weeks were eased by the caregiver friends she worked with for the past eight years at Betty Dare.
Bethe was born Oct. 9, 1952, to Donald and Bernice Clark in Olean, N.Y., one of four children. Her father, Don, and brother, Dirk, preceded her in death. Her brother, Doug Clark, resides in High Rolls while her sister, Benita, and mother still reside in the Buffalo, N.Y., area.
In 1977, she married Bob Foree in Alamogordo. They have nine great kids: Kenny, Ray, Pat, Pete, Carole, Paul, Charlie, Theresa and Eddie. Raymond passed away in 1995.
Bethe was a licensed midwife for 18 years, delivering 210 babies, including several of her six grandchildren: Henry, Levi, Destiny Ray, Joey, Bradford and Alexander.
Many friends will remember Bethe from the Father James B. Hay bingo games that she worked for many years during the 30 years her children were proud students there. Others might recall her hard work for the Historic Vehicle Association of Alamogordo at the car shows she put on for many years. She did it all.
In recent years, the staff and residents at Betty Dare were like a family to her. She will be dearly missed by the many, many people whose lives she touched, both professionally and personally.
We especially want to express our appreciation to all the people who supported the family and Bethe through their prayers and assistance during this difficult time.
The rosary will be recited by Deacon Don Dickman and Paul Strunk at 9:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church in La Luz. A memorial Mass will immediately follow with Father Bruce Hausfeld, O.F.M, as celebrant.
