Brian Hyland Obituary

Brian Jeffrey Hyland Jr., 38, of Alamogordo, passed away on July 27, 2017.

Brian was born July 3, 1979 to his parents Brian Sr. and Jamie Hyland. When Brian's father passed away Jamie made the decision to move to Alamogordo. Brian attended school in Alamogordo and graduated from Alamogordo Senior High School in 1998. Brian took psychology classes at New Mexico State University of Alamogordo.

Brian followed in his father's footsteps by becoming a contractor and later owning BTB construction. Brian also worked as a refrigerated air technician. The career that Brian felt most accomplished with was helping kids at La Fontera. Brian thought of each kid as special in their own way and he held them all close to his heart. Brian's final career was a self-taught mobile device repair technician.

Brian had one talent that stood out above all others and this was his music. Brian was in a band with his late friend Justin Torres. Brian taught himself how to play the bass guitar. After the band separated Brian's musical talent grew. Brian wrote his own music and composed complete CDs with him playing all instruments and singing. Brian was amazing, and his passion for music was undeniable. Brian was not only talented, he had a heart for others. Brian would help those who needed it and he always had amazing advice. Brian loved many and many loved Brian.

Brian was preceded in death by his father Brian Jeffrey Hyland Sr., his grandmothers Janet C. Badjar and Gail C. Doolittle and his great grandparents. Brian was also preceded in death by his close friend and fellow band mate Justin Torres along with his former brother in law Philip "PJ" Banka.

Brian is survived by his mother Jamie Teater, dad James Teater, nieces Kylie and LaRae Hyland, and nephew Gavin Hyland of the family home. Brian is also survived by his sister Jennifer Dyche and her husband Mark, with her children Alexis, Nikolis, and Cody; brother Jason Hyland and Michelle, his daughters Lilyenne and Alyssa; sister Ashley Hyland, all of Alamogordo. Brian also leaves behind two grandfathers, several Aunts and Uncles along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Brian leaves behind a few very special individuals who were also his family. Aaron Flores was one who Brian loved and respected for many years and was there for Brian throughout his life. Stephanie "butter britches" Ramirez was Brain's special and close friend, Aleana Moetoyer and Joshua Roach were Brian's prior stepchildren and he loved them as his very own. Brian's dog, Bishop, was his heart and soul.

Brian leaves behind many who loved him and he will not be forgotten. Brian's heart and memories will live on through all who knew him. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations to be made to the suicide prevention charity of your choice in Brian's name.

Services will be held on Wednesday August 9, 2017 at First Assembly Worship Center, 801 East First Street, Alamogordo, NM. Following the service the guests are invited to a reception at the family home.

The Hyland family has entrusted their loved one to the care of Alamogordo Funeral Home to direct the arrangements.
