Lois McConnaughey Obituary

Lois R. McConnaughey, 82, born in Little Rock, Ark., Oct. 4, 1930, died in El Paso March 29, 2013.
Her two sons, Mack and David Harrison, preceded her in death.
Lois lived in many places. Raised in Hawthorne, Nev., she lived in Indiana, where she met William McConnaughey. They were married for many years and enjoyed life to the fullest. Her greatest love was her animals; she kept all their ashes. She loved working at the senior center and had so many wonderful and lifetime friends. She was generous to all and helped many people.
She should be remembered for her love of life and straight-forward way of doing things her way. She will be missed by many people and her family.
Lois has two sisters living, Deloris Pummitt and Suzie Conterno, and brother Jim Moore. Her surviving son John only wishes he lived closer and loved her very much.
Her love of animals and friends will be forever remembered. She leaves behind only wonderful memories and so many special friendships in Alamogordo.
Special thanks to Zyra, Leta Wakefield, Louise and Pete Hitt and her many friends at the senior center.
There will be a memorial for Lois at the senior center at 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 Refreshments will be provided.
