Mary Ferguson Obituary
Mary Ferguson, 58, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014, in the family home. She was born on April 4, 1956, in Alamogordo, the daughter of Tilford and Betty Ferguson.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Alamogordo and graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1974. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Rangeland Management at NM State University in 1993. Mary worked as an office manager for several years and also for a period of time with the U.S. Forest Service. Mary loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hiking, and observing wildlife. She also was a great animal lover. Mary was a loving, kind, and giving wife, sister, aunt and friend to all who knew her. She will be missed so very much by all her family, friends, and neighbors who cared so much for her.
Mary is survived by her husband or 37 years, Frank Sayger, of the family home; her sister and brother-in-law Cheryl and Fred Weber of Lubbock, Texas; niece Amy Weber of Brooklyn, N.Y.; brother and sister-in-law Bennie and Donnelle Sayger of Abilene, Texas; nephew B.J. and Tamarie Sayger of Kyle, Texas; nephew Brandt and Margaret Sayger of Monahans, Texas.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Tilford and Betty Ferguson.
The family extends their deepest appreciation to all the friends and neighbors for their love, support, and care. A special thank you to Wanda Taylor, who also was with Mary in her last hours. Frank and Mary want to extend thanks to Glenn and Carol Masquelier of Tucson, Ariz., who have been very special close, loving, and caring friends for many years.
A visitation will be held July 7, 2014 from 10-11 a.m. for family and friends at the Hamilton-O'Dell Funeral Home chapel, 1334 N. Scenic Dr.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 9 at 10 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, with a reception afterward in the church fellowship hall.
