Pete Carrillo Obituary

Pete Carrillo passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011, in Alamogordo. He was born in Tularosa on June 9, 1928, to Fidencio and Gregoria Carrillo. He moved, along with his family, to California in 1945. He served with the U.S. Army and spent 1950 to 1953 in Korea. He resumed life in Watsonville, Calif., and married Evelyn Brewster.
He is survived by his daughter Yvonne Rudisill; two sons, Bryan and Steve Barnett; grandchildren Jennifer and Jason Rudisill, and Sara and Mitchell Barnett; great-grandchildren Michelle Nunes and Nathaniel Nunes, all of California; brother Simon Carrillo and his wife, Sandy, of Boles Acres; sisters Dorothy and her husband, Marshall Vasquez, of California, Margie Franco and her husband, August from Tularosa; three sisters-in-law, Christfina of California, Patrica of California and Pam Carrillo, of Alamogordo; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Preceding Pete in death were his parents, brothers Pat, Albert, Joe and Ben, sisters Anita Carrillo and Teresa Lawrence, and nephew Danny Lawrence.
Special thanks to the Gonzales boys, who looked after Pete in his later years. He will be cremated.
Mass will be held Friday, June 10, 2011, at St. Francis de Paula Catholic Church in Tularosa at 10 a.m.
