DOROTHY CARMINE Obituary

DOROTHY CARMINE Dorothy Carmine, affectionately known as Dot to her dear ones, was a spirited beacon of love and loyalty who deeply touched the lives of those around her. Born on July 19, 1929, in Gary, Indiana, Dorothy was a symbol of resilience and determination, embodying a spirit that was hard to match. She passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come. Dorothy's life journey was as spirited as her personality. After being born to Eleanor and George Karch, she found her calling in the field of electronics manufacturing where she worked diligently at RCA in Marion, IN until her retirement in 1986. Dorothy was a loyal and dedicated employee, always putting her best foot forward. Despite being retired, her passion for her work never faded. But it was her devotion to her family that truly defined Dorothy. She was a compassionate mother, a loving grandmother, and a doting great-grandmother. Her home in Elwood, Indiana, was always filled with laughter and love, a testament to the unwavering loyalty she had for her family. Dorothy was an ardent Cubs and Colts fan, passionately cheering for her teams alongside her loved ones. It was these shared moments that truly showcased her vibrant spirit. Dorothy's life was a testament to her compassionate nature, her unwavering loyalty, and her spirited demeanor. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by all those who had the honor of knowing her. She is survived by her daughter, Judy (Sam) Ramnarine; her grandsons, Robby DeWitt and Nicoli ; her granddaughters, Lisa Ball and Jennifer Phillips; her great-granddaughters, Summer and Michaelyn Phillips; and three great-grandsons, brother George Karch; sons-in-law, Bobby DeWitt and Fred McCormick; and several nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband George Carmine, her daughter Candy McCormick, her sister, Marjorie Galloway, and her parents Eleanor and George Karch. Dorothy's wishes were to be cremated with no formal services. Burial will be at a later date. Dunnichay Funeral Home is honored to care for Dorothy and the Carmine families. We encourage all who knew Dorothy to visit the memorial page, where you can share your memories of her and upload photos. In doing so, we can collectively celebrate the life of a woman who meant so much to so many. We invite you to join us in remembering and honoring Dorothy Carmine a life beautifully lived.
