Alice - Alma Gloria Delgado, 81, went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born to parents Hilda G. Garcia and Fidel S. Garcia on March 23, 1939 in Alice, Texas. Alma met and married Hector Delgado and together they raised three children. They were married for sixty-seven years. She was a dedicated homemaker raising her children and making a beautiful home for her family. She was an excellent cook and was always ready to lend a helping hand to everyone. After raising her children, she entered the work world and worked as an office assistant for Dr. J.A. Garcia and Dr. James Shaw for several years where she made many close friends. She also worked for Family Planning Health Center in Kingsville and Robstown, Texas. She enjoyed working in the medical field and meeting new people every day. Alma loved having family gatherings at the ranch and enjoying time with her family. She loved sitting on her favorite swing at the ranch and just enjoying the peace and quiet. One of her favorite past times was collecting antiques and decorating her home with them. She had an extraordinarily strong faith and always made time to read the bible. She was a great conversationalist and had a great sense of humor. She will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Alma will be dearly missed by her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hilda and Fidel Garcia, a younger brother, Fidel S. Garcia Jr., her aunt Francisca S. Garcia (Chica), and her sister- in- law, Sylvia Garza.
She is survived by her husband Hector Delgado, her children, David (Rosie) Delgado, Yvette Zingler, and Jesus (Sonny) Delgado Jr. Her sisters, Cynthia Garcia from San Antonio, Texas, and Alva Estella (Alfredo) Gonzalez from Austin, Texas. Her mother- in- law, Frances (Momo) Delgado. Her grandchildren, Marc (Camille) Delgado, from Austin, Texas, Michael (Connie) Delgado, from Austin, Texas, Jesse Matthew Delgado, from San Antonio, Texas, J.D. Delgado, and Magdalena Zingler from Alice, Texas. Her great grandchildren, Lyndsay Delgado from Kingsville, Texas, Marc Austin Delgado, and Tristan Jayce Delgado from Austin, Texas. Her sisters and brothers in law, Vilma (Gary) Ross from Corpus Christi, Texas, Gracie Delgado from McAllen, Texas, Hilda (Anselmo) Longoria, Oscar (Elena) Delgado, and Homero (Mary Lou) Delgado all from Alice, Texas. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Family will be receiving friends and relatives at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday February 11, 2021 at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 12:30 P.M. Funeral procession will depart from Rosas Funeral Home 1:15 P.M. to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass to be celebrated at 1:30P.M. Burial will follow at the New Collins Cemetery.
