ANGEL JAVIER RAMIREZ
Angel Javier "RJ THE GR8TEST" Ramirez, passed away October 11, 2025 at the age of 23. Angel was born on July 4, 2002, in Alice, Texas to Victor Rene Ramirez Sr. and Stephanie Sanchez. He was a rapper artist who loved singing and had a beautiful voice that resonated with deep emotion. His passion for music was evident as he wove his feelings into lyrics that touched many hearts. He loved BBQing and baking and found joy in making sweet treats and sharing them with others. He was an avid gamer, immersing himself in virtual worlds that allowed him to explore new adventures and connect with friends. His hunting and fishing trips were not just hobbies; they were cherished escapades that provided opportunities to enjoy the tranquility of nature. He was a movie buff, often talking about his favorite cinematic moments or actors with his family. He was silly, a natural jokester who took delight in light-hearted pranks, always aiming to draw a smile or laughter from those around him. This joyful spirit was infectious, and he consistently carried a smile on his face. Swimming was another of his favorite pastimes, where he enjoyed the refreshing water and the joy of spending time with loved ones. Anime captured his imagination as well, and he would often talk about his favorite series and share recommendations with friends. He was very loved, and people naturally gravitated to him. He loved being surrounded by his family and he had a huge heart. His devotion to his wife and daughter was unparalleled, and he cherished every moment spent with them deeply. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Victor Rene Ramirez Sr.; paternal grandparents, Juan and Viola Ramirez; maternal grandfather, Hector Sanchez Sr.; and sister, Aydia Benavides.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 5 years, Lydia Nichole Cloonan of Alice; daughter, Aydia Jazmyn Ramirez of Alice; mother, Stephanie (Anselmo, V) Benavides of Alice; siblings, Amelya Benavides, Elaina Ramirez, Anselmo (Miranda) Benavides VI, Andrew (Nina) Benavides and Victor Ramirez Jr. all of Alice; sister-in-law, Mikyla (Draven) Cloonan and brother-in-law, Christian Cloonan both of San Antonio, mother-in-law, Crystal (John) McCune of San Antonio; grandmother, Veronica (Ronnie) Cruz of Ben Bolt, Texas; uncles, Hector (Beth) Sanchez of Floresville and Anthony (Marilyn) Sanchez of Alice and cousins, Jaime Ibanez of San Diego, Sally (Adrian) De La Garza of Alice; and 4 nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation will begin at 6:30 pm on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a Funeral service at 7:00 pm with Pastor AB officiating. Services will conclude in the chapel.
