JOSE BENITO GARZA Alice, Texas Jose Benito Garza entered eternal rest January 1, 2024 in Alice, Texas. He was born August 27, 1933 in Mirando City, Texas to Guadalupe and Martina Garza. Jose graduated from Mirando City High School where he played many sports. He served in the United States Army as private first class. He worked at Krogers and later at the P&S Hospital where he touched many lives that crossed his path. He would often take his nieces and nephews to Mirando City to see their grandparents. He was a jokester who always kid with his nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his kind heart and loving spirit. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe and Martina Garcia; wife, Virginia Garza; and siblings, Gilbert Garza, Luis R. Garza Sr. (Minerva); brother-in-law, Juan J. Guerra. He is survived by his sister, Maria "Lupita" Guerra (the late Juan) of Alice; sister-in-law, Frances Rodriguez of Alice; seven nieces and nephews, Irma Moreno (John) of Alice, Hilda Guerra of Florida, Norma Asevedo (Rene) of Agua Dulce, Johnny Guerra (Kimberley) of Corpus Christi, Louie Garza (Dana) of Kyle, Belinda Ramirez (Roy) of Austin, and Pilar Garza of Austin; and numerous cousins. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Rosas Funeral Home with a holy rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
