1945 - 2018

BEN BOLT - Thomas Cadena – 72 years of age entered to eternal rest on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at his residence, with his loving family at his bedside. He was born November 24, 1945 in Brussels, Belgium to Jose and Julia Dekok Cadena. Thomas retired from B&J Air and Pump Services after 30 years of service. After his retirement he, returned to his roots and enjoyed farming and ranching, which were his passion. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Thomas could be found every morning at Taqueria Jalisco where his daily routine started.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Julia Cadena and two brothers, Jesus "Chuy" Cadena and Felix Cadena.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 50 years of marriage, Yolanda Valdez Cadena; two sons, Thomas (Hortencia) Cadena Jr. of Alice, Texas and Orlando Cadena of Ben Bolt, Texas; one daughter, Ilsie (Gilberto) Victoria of Houston, Texas; father, Jose Cadena of Ben Bolt, Texas; seven brothers, Jose "Pepe" (Aurora) Cadena of Palito Blanco, Ernesto (Katherine) Cadena Riviera, Texas, David Cadena of Alice, Texas, Rodolfo (Leonicia) Cadena of Riviera, Texas, Michael (Zulema) Cadena of Palito Blanco, Texas, Carlos Cadena and Juan (Vanessa) Cadena and one sister, Sofia Rodriguez of Ben Bolt, Texas. Other survivors include eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Visitation will be held at 5:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Rosas Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, April 5, 2018 at St. Peters Catholic Church of Ben Bolt, Texas. Burial will follow at Las Almas Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Thomas Cadena IIII, John Eric Cadena, Adrian Cadena, Trey Espinoza, Juan Carlos Camarena and Alberto Salinas "Berty".
