WILLIAM NASH Obituary

WILLIAM NASH 09/17/1982 - 10/13/2025 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of William Richard Nash on October 13, 2025. William was the only child born on September 17, 1982, to Linda and Eugene Nash in Houston, Texas. The family moved in 1987 and he started kindergarten in Aransas Pass, Texas, and in the second grade moved to Alice, Texas. He was a graduate of the class of 2000 Alice High School. He was baptized at True Light Missionary Baptist Church and was involved in the youth choir, Sunday school secretary, and played the piano for Sunday school. William was an athletic trainer at Alice High School and received a scholarship to attend New Mexico State Junior College, then he attended New Mexico State University where he was involved in the Black Student Union Choir. He received a degree from Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service in Houston and later joined the military in 2007 and was part of the Operation Enduring Freedom. He was stationed in Afghanistan and received several awards for billeting clerk. William was always a person who loved to have fun and joke around. His personality of being generous, kind, loving and caring for one another made him a very special person. Everyone loved his smile, always cheerful with positive thoughts. When he returned from the Army he became the owner operations manager in the family business, E.W. Nash Lawn Service. He continued to do his civic work in the community with involvement of organizations; Alice Chamber of Commerce Ambassador and the Alice Christmas Parade. He continued his Christian journey by joining B.T. Baptist church. He was also a Baptist church musician and choir member of the Coastal Bend, help organize several gospel musicals including the first held Alice Juneteenth Celebration as well as serving on the Alice Black History Committee. His legacy will continue with all the organizations that he worked with and the people that he encountered.
