Randy, so sorry to hear about Mr. Sherrod. I enjoyed being a student at Channing under his leadership and even more enjoyed his friendship to the entire Lovato family. He attended a few of our family reunions and enjoyed hearing some of the funny stories he would tell us. I can still hear his joyful laugh. Prayers to you and your family.

There just aren't many men like Mr. Sherrod. He was my superintendent when I was in school (grades 1-12) then he hired me for my first year as a teacher in 1st grade at Channing-I couldn't have had a better mentor. He and Mrs. Sherrod were two big reasons I became an educator. His laugh was like none other, and he always knew just what to say to make a person feel special. He and my daddy were besties and now I know Heaven will be filled with their laughter. Great Great Manhe'll be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known him!! Hugs, prayers & much love sent to you all.

I will always remember Ky as the most gentle, kindest man in education. He also lived his Christian faith.
Years after taught in Channing, I came back when I worked for a season for the Dept. of Human Services. When I walked in the school, Ky said (in the typical, wonderful West Texas drawl of his, "Well,Mr. Bashor, what are you doing here today?"
Ky truly touched my life in my first year of teaching. It was a pleasure to know him and be a part of Channing.
I know family and friends will miss him greatly. I pray God will wrap His arms around the family in this time of grief.

I was sorry to hear about Ky's passing. It was my pleasure to have known this fine man. I was always amazed by his larger than life presence and his ability to be genuinely interested in every individual he met, including me and my family. My condolences go out to Randy, Brent and their families.
