Condolences to Nick's family. I woke up this morning thinking about him for some reason, googled him and was so sad to see that he had passed. We were friends in high school and used to "drag" Stanley's after school. I learned to drive a stick shift in NIck's old blue Jeep one summer in Lake City CO at the family cabin. I remember being with him in that old Jeep the day we pulled up to the house at Wolflin and Western and saw his graduation present sitting in the driveway--a 1966 Dodge Coronet, yellow with white bucket seats. He was delighted, and we immediately dragged Stanley's in that car. We had lost touch over the years, but I called him a few years back to catch up. We had a good conversation. He sounded the same over the phone--cheerful and upbeat. I know his family will miss him.

My most sincere condolences to the McCrary family. I am so sorry for your loss and to all on Nick's friends. Nick never met a stranger and If you ever met him, you never forgot the experience of his company. Nick and I attended Tascosa High School in Amarillo and I still have fond memories of our friendship during those years and the years after college. We were in the Army reserve together and ran around together dragging through Stanley's for who knows how many miles, unloading broken crates of eggs from trailers at The Nest Fresh Egg Co. and trying to get as little "chicken water as Nick called it" on our clothes as possible. It was so much fun just being around Nick no matter what we were doing. Unfortunately, as happens in life, we grew up, married, and grew apart and moved with our working commitments to other cities and states and lost touch as so often happens and I regret so much.
I could put so much more in here but there is not enough room to express the pleasure, fun and experience I had in just knowing Nick McCrary.
I know he will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. I know I surely will and look forward to seeing him again, probably with his sunglasses on, in that glorious meeting in sky.
May God Bless You Nick

Condolences to Nicole and family. Nick was my Mothers younger brother and only 9 yrs old then myself. As kids growing up on Amarillo only about a mile apart I spent many days and nights at my grand parents at the corner or Wolflin and Western Ave, Nick became a big brother to me, I watched him thru his THS high school years and always looked up to him and enjoyed his huge collection of 45 rpm records.Loved music and shooting home movies. Nick worked in the family business many years at Nest Fresh Egg Co and would let me tag along on deliveries which I enjoyed for he would stop for lunch always and get a cheese burger fries and a coke. Trips to Lake City our grand parents ranch , Nick had a good heart and enjoyed people. Will miss our many talks we would have during the week. Look forward to seeing him again one day. Rest in Peace Uncle Nick.

Condolences to Nicole and family. Nick is my uncle my Mothers brother. With only 9 yrs difference in our age and fact I spent so much time at my grand parents in Amarillo growing up Nick became that big brother figure to me and spent time with me. I have so many memories to share on here but he loved life and people. We went to the same schools growing up and of course I got many hand me downs from him. Nick loved filming home movies and listening to his huge collection of 45 rpm records in the 60s. We had many great trips to Lake City , Colo as kids and I recall riding with Nick in his yellow 1966 Dodge Coronet to Lake City as well as many weekends at our grand parents ranch near Canyon. After leaving Amarillo we always stayed in touch and wish I could of seen you more Nick. I know you are at home with your parents and grand parents now. Looking forward to seeing you again one day. Rest in Peace.

I remeber as a child visiting my family in Amarillo Tx. I remeber visiting Palo Duro Canyon with Nick and his daughter Nicole. Nick was my father, Armand Smith's uncle. My father was very close to Nick growing up...my father thought of him as a big brother..even later in life they always maintained that bond...i know that he will be missed greatly.
