Dr. Ronald Duncan Vaughn

1935 - 2017

Dr. Ronald D. Vaughn, 82, longtime Guymon resident, passed away Tuesday evening, October 24, 2017 at Northwest Texas Hospital in Amarillo as a result of an automobile accident. The second of four children, Ronald was born to Herrod Ray "Bud" Vaughn and Mattie Eugenia (Duncan) Vaughn in Tulia,Texas on August 25, 1935.

Ronald spent his younger years in the Texas Panhandle, living in Tulia, Sunray, and Cactus. Affectionately known as "Bob," he was named by his grandmother at birth-a nickname that would continue throughout his life. In fact, his 1953 Dumas High School Diploma reads "Bob Vaughn." Also, he answered to "Doc," "Ron," "Dad," and "Granddad."

Ronald is survived by his wife of 58 years, Pat Vaughn; daughter, Ronna and husband, Dr. Blake Baird of Perry, Oklahoma; son, Dr. Mark Vaughn and wife, Sandy of Paris, Texas; four grandchildren, Bryce Alden Baird, Brayden Vaughn Baird, Riley Christine Vaughn, and Hunter Ray Vaughn. In addition, Ronald has one sister, Jeanette Vaughn Lee of Stillwater, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

A Celebration of Ronald's life will be held on Saturday, November 11th, 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 310 N.W. 7th Street, Guymon, Oklahoma.
