Bryan St. Romain Obituary

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Bryan James St. Romain at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM in Carencro, Louisiana. Bryan's life was peacefully guided by his maker into eternity on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at his residence in Sunset.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location, 330 St. Landry Street, Lafayette, LA 70506, and will continue at the same location on Friday, August 20, 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
A Rosary will be prayed Thursday evening at 6:00 PM with the Sisters of the Sacred Heart presiding.
Reverend Jude Halphen, PhD., with the Office of Marriage & Family Life at the offices of the Diocese of Lafayette, Louisiana will officiate. The con-celebrant of the Mass will be Reverend Mark P. Ledoux, Pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church of Carencro. Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery under the direction of Martin and Castille Funeral Home.
Bryan James St. Romain was born March 3, 1956, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. From the time he was eight years old, he loved hunting ducks and geese at the family farm and spending time in the marsh. He also enjoyed boating and fishing along the Calcasieu River. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends around a campfire. He was an outstanding offensive and defensive football player, and track and field athlete at St. Louis High School in Lake Charles, class of 1974. He began his career working derricks on drilling rigs in Oklahoma and Louisiana, then expanded into oilfield offshore communications and process technologies. He built the family home that he and Connie raised the family in, and found great joy in improving the property over the years as the family grew. An amazing woodworker, he loved to help family and friends with any project. He was fulfilled as a Eucharistic Minister, and was continuously involved in volunteering his time at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church in Carencro. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and Bonne Marte Society. A meticulous man, Bryan was integral in the management of his family properties.
Left behind to cherish his legacy, include his wife of 38 years, Connie St. Romain; Six children: Libby Guidry and husband, Joey, Anna Poole and husband, Jason, Oran St. Romain and fiancé, Sarah Wise, Adam St. Romain and wife, Sara, Claire Bass and husband, Greg, and Luke St. Romain; Twelve grandchildren: Jack, Millie, Joseph, Ava, Celia, Annabelle, Marshall, Wesley, Ruth, Patrick, Ronan, and Genevieve; Six siblings: Preston St. Romain, III and wife, Joanie, Randall St. Romain and wife, Catherine, David St. Romain and wife, Linda, Susan Briggs and husband, John, Cadie St. Romain, John St. Romain and wife, Jackie. Mother-in-Law Loretta B. Richard; Father-in-Law Oran J. Richard and wife, Joan; Four Brothers-in-Law: Lee Richard and wife, Jodi, Howard McCann and wife, Tracy, Todd McCann and wife, Bernetta, Mike Richard and wife, Cherie; Four Sisters-in-Law: Patty Schuster and husband, Kenny, Denise Lanclos and husband, David, Suzanne Larkin and husband, David, Pam McCann.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Preston J. St. Romain, Jr. and Gene Lester St. Romain, and grandson Alexander St. Romain.
Pallbearers will be Oran St. Romain, Adam St. Romain, Luke St. Romain, Jason Poole, Joey Guidry, and Greg Bass.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Preston St. Romain, III, Randall St. Romain, David St. Romain, John St. Romain, Jack Poole, Joseph Guidry, and Patrick Bass.
Memorial contributions can be made in Bryan's name to Hospice of Acadiana.
A heartfelt appreciation is extended by the St. Romain family to Dr. Gene Brierre, Dr. Britni Hebert, Dr. Maria Zarzour, Hospice of Acadiana, Christina Moorman, Gerard Charles, Glen Begnaud and so many friends, neighbors and family members.

My deepest condolences and prayers for the whole St. Romain family. I was blessed to connect with Bryan through EWTN. He was such a genuine soul and truly inspired me in my own faith journey. He was a faithful man of the Lord and gave me great hope and courage. He will always be apart of our EWTN family and we will remember each of you in our prayers. May God bless you and bring you His perfect peace.

Our heartfelt condolences to the entire St. Romain klan on Bryan's homecoming. Bryan certainly will be missed by you all. He was, like most of you St. Romains, a blessed man who was a great blessing to all who knew him. Our great and holy God grant you comfort as your grieve and joy when you remember. We love you all.
