James Kleven Obituary
James was one of four children born to Kenneth Robert and Verma Jean Kleven, he was born in Lake Charles, La on Dec. 13, 1953.
He attended Welsh High School where he enjoyed playing basketball until graduation in 1973. He was strong in his faith, a long time member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. He was a proud father to his children; coaching his childrens T-Ball teams, taking them fishing and playing basketball with them.
He was welcomed into Heaven by his son Brent Joshua Kleven and his parents.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Brandon (Tanya) Kleven, Jason (Erica) Kleven, and Kelly (Josh) Gorham; his grandchildren, Danika, Ava, McKenna, Emma, Owen, and Noah; his siblings, Kurt (Judy) Kleven of Westlake, Kaye Avery of Westlake, and Keith (Genia) Kleven of Florien, along with numerous extended family.
The family will welcome friends on Monday, Feb. 8, 2021 beginning at 5pm to 8pm at University Baptist Church 4505 Lake St. Lake Charles LA 70605. A rosary to be prayed at 6pm. Visitation to resume Tuesday at 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. at St. John Bosco Catholic Church of Westlake led by Father Mike Barras. He will be laid to rest at Lebleu Cemetery in Fenton, LA.

JImmy was a high school classmate. So very sorry to hear of his passing. My prayers are with him and his family during this time. I pray that God wraps his arms around his loved ones during this time.
